About this event

Tours will be held once an hour throughout the day and tickets are free.

The tour will consist of a guided walk by one of the archaeologists from Oxford Archaeology who are currently working on the site. We will also have a finds table set up so that you can see the sorts of things we have found from the features we are investigating.

Tours will last about 45 minutes. You must have a ticket to attend the open day. Attendees should arrive at the entrance to site, by Ash Farm on Thorpe Road around five minutes before the start time of their tour. You will be met here by an archaeologist.

Please note: anyone attending the open day must arrive on foot, there is NO vehicle parking available. There will not be any welfare facilities available on site either.

Clothing and footwear: if the weather is bad, the open day will still go ahead. Therefore, please bring appropriate warm clothes and waterproofs as necessary. The site is muddy and the ground uneven, therefore it is very important that you wear the correct shoes - walking boots or wellies are perfect. Canvas shoes etc are not appropriate. Due to the nature of the site, it is also important that all visitors are sure footed and can walk unaided.
